So what’s far more dire than any perceived fears about job replacement is the fact that the health of these businesses is at stake. Without automation, including robots, there’s a danger they won’t be able to survive. Smart businesses today are automating themselves out of a very serious labor gap."

That's called supply and demand, which intersect in the labor market at the prevailing wage being offered -- labor is telling capital the wage is too low (hence demand exceeds supply)...but seriously, since when does capital ACTUALLY want to play by the rules of the invisible hand and a competitive market?

Amazon in particular...
